ScanFree is engineered with a strict 100% On-Device Privacy Architecture. The app does not collect, harvest, store, transmit, or share any personal, financial, or document data with any cloud servers, advertising networks, or third-party analytics services. All machine learning OCR, image processing, and PDF encryption occur strictly on the user's physical hardware.
The table below reflects our official submission in the Google Play Console Data Safety questionnaire:

In compliance with Google Play's Prominent Disclosure and Consent Requirement, ScanFree presents in-app disclosure dialogs before requesting sensitive device permissions:
Purpose: Allows the app to photograph physical documents, receipts, business cards, whiteboards, and IDs for document scanning.
Disclosure: The camera feed is processed in real time on your phone for automatic edge detection and quad-crop alignment. Images are never streamed, stored remotely, or transmitted to any server.
Purpose: Used exclusively when you scan a physical business card and choose to tap "Save to Contacts".
Disclosure: ScanFree only writes the specific contact details you inspect and approve into your local address book. ScanFree never harvests, synchronizes, or transmits your existing contacts list.
Purpose: All scanned documents, generated PDFs, and OCR results are stored within the app's private sandboxed application directory (getApplicationDocumentsDirectory).
Disclosure: ScanFree does not require or request dangerous legacy READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permissions.
Text extraction from images is powered by Google ML Kit On-Device Text Recognition.
